Special Considerations for International Students

International students can connect with Case Management and Victim Support Services (CMVSS) for support and assistance in understanding their rights and options at the university.  CMVSS can coordinate with the Office of International Students and Scholars to address any concerns related to a student’s visa and immigration status.  Learn more about CMVSS.

Pregnant international students may have additional needs and considerations related to their visa and immigration status.  In addition to the resources for students discussed in other sections of this website, international students are strongly encouraged to reach out to their advisor in the Office of International Students and Scholars to discuss any impacts on their immigration status.

The Executive Order, “Protecting the Meaning and Value of American Citizenship”, issued by Donald Trump on January 20, 2025 would restrict the citizenship of children born within the United States based on the immigration status of the child’s parents. While this may have affected the citizenship of children born to our international students and scholars, the issue currently remains under litigation and has not yet been finalized.
